The world is changing rapidly. Complicated global issues such as wealth inequalities, climate change and healthy lifestyles are not limited to generations or continents, and cannot be solved from only one perspective.

This is why researchers and students from Utrecht University are continuously looking for new possibilities and solutions across the disciplines and form alliances with various external partners in the process. As a tight-knit community of alumni, students, employees and external partners, with confidence we work together towards a better world.

Utrecht University stands out of the crowd because of its focus on multidisciplinary research. Research is clustered within four interdisciplinary Strategic Themes.

Each year, some 550 new PhD candidates begin their research, and this group is very international. Utrecht University is a home to staff and students from 130 different countries. Among the international staff, English is the common colloquial language.
